Data-based management and reporting of indirect real estate investments

Initial situation

comPlan is Swisscom’s pension fund and has built up an extensive portfolio of NAV-based real estate vehicles in recent years. The portfolio of indirect NAV-based Swiss real estate investments currently amounts to over CHF 1.5 billion.

The efficient evaluation of new products, ongoing controlling and the comparison of products with one another are central activities at comPlan. As the size of the portfolio increases, so do the requirements: New products must be assessed quickly and in a well-founded manner, existing products must be systematically monitored and compared with benchmarks and competitor products. At the same time, the availability and quality of sustainability data is becoming increasingly important – both for investment decisions and for ongoing monitoring.

  • Central and rapid availability of all relevant data with user-friendly access
  • Rapid and data-based assessment of new investment opportunities
  • Ongoing monitoring and analysis of existing investments at portfolio and property level
  • Recognizing anomalies for a targeted approach to product suppliers

  • Creating regular reports on the structure of their own indirect portfolio
